Office of International Students and Faculty

The Office of International Students and Faculty is the primary university resource and focal point for international activities and services. The Office provides international students and staff with comprehensive, on-going assistance in all non-academic matters, especially those related to maintaining valid visa status. It oversees and offers a range of programs and services, throughout the year, to ease the adjustment of the NJIT international community.

In addition to orientation programs prior to the beginning of each semester, the Office provides updated information and advice regarding the complex ever-changing federal regulations. Other services include:

  • Tax preparation workshops
  • Work permission and practical training recommendations
  • Travel and dependents' documents
  • Attendance verification and expense letters.

For international faculty and scholars the office prepares:

  • DS-2019s for exchange participants and dependents
  • H-1 temporary worker petitions
  • Social security and banking referral letters.

Furthermore, the Office administers and coordinates the university’s exchange program. A resource library is also housed in the Office.
