New Jersey Institute of Technology has been designated as a school which can admit exchange visitors in the following five categories:  Professor, Research Scholar, Short Term Scholar, Specialist and Student (both non-degree and degree).

The Exchange Visitor Program is often referred by the visa type: J-1, which is required to be first admitted into the United States to study, teach, specialize or research.

The Office of International Students and Faculty is a source of information and assistance for departments wanting to bring professors, scholars or specialists to NJIT.  Similarly, the office is a resource for all students, both non-degree and degree, who are members of the exchange visitor program.
